Andrea is fascinated by the body and the mind but it is the combination and link of the two that has become her passion. One could say the mind and body are the same and this is true to an extent, but to her the mind is both within and out of the physical structure of the body. The energy we create and that which is cast upon us can greatly effect both our physical and our mental health. It is our circumstances but also how we perceive them relating to us that leave a mark on our physical and emotional self. Often they are inter-related and one can not be treated without the other. Our emotions can begin within our physical bodies as cells that may have the power to multiply and create illness or physical pain. Likewise a physical ailment may effect our emotional being as in many traumatic events.
While she has studied with a variety of teachers and mentors it is this connection between physical and emotional health that is her passion. It is here that she excels and is at her best. Through the use of intuitive guidance, emotional connection and physical training she becomes the guide we need at this time. She meets you where you are and takes you where you need to be at the speed you are ready for. Her intuition is the guiding force in both her physical and her verbal sessions
Her physical practice is a combination of holistic techniques and physical training. She received her comprehensive mat and apparatus certification in the Pilates method in 2002 through theKane School of Core Integration. She has continued the study and integration of anatomy and bio-mechanical training through continuing education workshops,FAMI 1 and 2 trainingand Mentorship under Kelly Kane. She has also completed Vinyasa Power Yoga 200hr training withAfrica Yoga Project, Level 1 training withBaron Baptise, personal training certification with National Academy of Sports Medicine, andBooty BarreFoundation training with Tracey Mallett.
In 2005 she graduated from Pratt Institute with an MPS inCreative Art Therapy and in 2006 received her New York State License. In 2010 she completed Reiki Level 1 ,2, 3 and Master level certification. Most recently she has completed and integrated the
Soul Journeys Akashic Records training into her practice.
Her approach to working with clients combines the science of anatomy, bio-mechanics, psychology, and neuro-psychology with intuitive abilities and psycho-spiritual beliefs. Living in true balance and wellness requires the alignment and integration of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Her hope is that clients begin to live a more meaningful and satisfying life.
She has worked with a diverse clientele including actors Julia Stiles, Anna Paquin, Alison Pill, and Piper Perabo as well as models Irina Shayk, Julia Stegner, Behati Prinsloo, Heather Marks, Elyse Taylor, Cato Van Ee and Jessica Stam. She is a contributor to several publications including Self, Redbook, Shape, Glamour, Dr. Oz The Good Life, Daily Candy and Time out Kids.
In 2013 she created and produced theMicrosoft Bing Fitness Pilates app.
